The Solid Wood Difference

Wood is a living, breathing material with its own unique characteristics and story to tell. Because it's not a man-made material, it will never be uniform. Instead, it will have its very own character and variation of color and grain pattern.

Because wood is a natural substrate, you know what you're buying. There's no question about its make-up or sustainably.

Most of our furnishings are crafted from Parawood. Parawood is one of the most widely used woods in today's home furnishings because of its fine texture, light color, high durability, and because it's one of the most renewable woods in the world.

Parawood trees are first harvested for latex. Once the tree no longer produces latex, the tree is cut for manufacturing and new ones are planted and grown.

The advantages of solid wood furnishings:
Durable
Easy to clean
Good value
Natural substrate
Can be transformed by refinishing

Our Sustainability Efforts

As a solid wood home furnishings supplier, with 1,000 + different products, raw material, and packaging, are in abundance. In an effort to be an environmentally conscious company Whitewood Industries takes the following steps.

All corrugated materials (cardboard) used in packaging and shipping are collected, compressed, bailed, and repurposed by a local recycling center. Whitewood Industries recycles 150,00 pounds of corrugated material each year.

Plastics bags used in packaging and shipping are collected, compressed, bailed, and repurposed by a local recycling center. Whitewood Industries recycles 10,000 pounds of plastics each year.

Damaged wood, or wood that does not meet our quality standards, is repurposed by a local wood recycler into various forms of particle board.

Whitewood Industries recycles up to 600 cubic yards of solid wood material each year. It is our utmost desire to carefully consider, and respectfully care, for our environment.

Total environment impact = Whitewood Industries recycles approximately 1,360,000 pounds of materials each year.
